In that vein, we introduce CallThere, a new telephony app that allows users to freely talk to people in other countries simply by dialing the county code of interest (e.g. dialing 001 connects you to a randomly selected user in the U.S., dialing 00961 connects you to a CallThere user in Lebanon, and so on).
We’ve seen CallThere used for language practice by a Swedish 6th grader, for discussion about Sanders and Trump, and to compare plumber salaries and healthcare in Sweden and the U.S.
CallThere similar to The Swedish Number (news), but is an app, can be used to talk to people in any country, and calls are free worldwide.
CallThere is available for iOS and Android Our early users are mainly in the US and Sweden, but we are eager to cultivate a community of users in Lebanon and the Middle East, because to put it simply, there’s too much prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness between people here and there.
